Common questions

Why is my AC running but not cooling?

A dirty filter, a frozen coil, low refrigerant or a failed outdoor fan or capacitor are common causes. A technician can diagnose it.

How long does an AC replacement take?

Many replacements are done in a day or two, depending on the system and any duct or electrical work.

How often should my AC be serviced?

Most manufacturers recommend at least once a year. Heat pumps that heat and cool are often checked twice a year.

Why does my heater smell when I first turn it on?

Dust burning off the heating parts is common and should fade within an hour. A strong or lasting smell needs a technician.

Is some ice on a heat pump normal in winter?

A light frost that clears during defrost is normal. Thick ice that stays is not.
